i have a Th350 transmission it will go into drive fine but while in drive it hits 2000rpm and should shift to second but feels like it shifts into reverse making it bog down until u hit low enough rpm and will some times make the tires lock up

did you just install this transmission or service it in any way? or did this just start happening out of the blue

I bought the truck in October, didnt do anything to the transmission, I've checked the fluid it's good, it just happened out of the blue, my trucks a 1982 gmc Sierra and has a 350 in it

That transmission has a governor under a cover by the tail shaft. There is a gear on that gov that gets torn up and the governor stops turning. you can probably go to a wrecking yard and pull one out of another th 350
