So, while trying to get all the lights working in my cluster by using known good bulbs my printed circuit decided to go up in smoke...literally. Luckily it didn't damage anything else, however since my gauges have not been working very well from the start I think I'll replace all of them. The voltage and oil pressure gauges are the only ones that work properly. Speedo is way off and just drops the south after maybe 50mph on the gauge which is roughly 35 actual, bounces all over under that speed, stays at 10 or 20 at a stop, fuel gauge sweeps back and forth, temp never worked, have after market hooked up that works great. I only got the left side lights working before the right side went up in smoke. So, seeing as how I need to replace gauges and the printed circuit, it seems it would be roughly the same cost to buy VDO gauges and mount them in the cluster than to replace stock gauges and circuit. Wiring does not scare me, as I have had to rewire 2 vehicles of my own previously, however, concerting a cable speedo into an electrical speedo is new to me, as is mechanical gauges to electrical, I assume the wiring for those would have to made.
My question is this: What do I need, other than the gauges, to make this work? Which fuel gauge ohms range is correct?
