Manual to automatic swap
« on: July 22, 2015, 08:48:45 am »
I recently purchased a 85 c30 dual wheel crew cab that has a 350 with manual trans in it.  I also have a complete 88 c3500 single cab dual wheel 6.2 diesel with automatic trans.

I Would like to know if I can swap the trans from the 88 diesel and bolt it up to the 85 c30 gasser?    If so can i use the torque converter from the diesel as well as the flex plate, or will I have to replace them?   Another question I have is will the rear be the same bettwen both trucks or will I have to swap them out as well?

im going to say nothing will bolt up, the part numbers on the flywheel dont match up on each engine neither does the torque converter
