75 silverado hood not laying flat

cant seem to figure out why my hood on the 75 silverado wont sit flat. the hinges are good i worrie i would have the same trouble if i bought new ones. I read that one of the guys shimmed the front hood hood hinge bolt but it seems to me it would make it worse. Can a guy elongate the hinge holes were they mount to the fender and get results? I also did reinforce the hood wanting to kink problem so its not that.

The hinges wear out on the 73-80 hoods and can be repaired but if you replace the hinges that is the best option. To repair them, carefully remove the hood, the springs and the hinges. If the hinges are loose at the rivets you can drill them out and put in new rivets or hardened bolts.

ok thanks ill try that. that must also be the reason when the hood is shut i can push down on the corners and there is play there almost enough to get it even but it pops up again as soon as i remove pressure. It sure sees like the hinges dont fully collapse. Is that a result of worn out rivets also?

I've got the same problem with my 85. No matter how much I move it and tighten it down the hood up front still rises up. Its not terribly bad but enough to bother me and notice.

I have this same issue....good everywhere else except the front left is high by about 1/2".  Any ideas on how to fix this?  (I know old post)
