but ive seen a DT battery actually fail on one set of terminals (lets say side) and pass on the top. cant remember which way it was but when we first tested it it tested good, which is why im thinking the top post were good but the side were bad

DT Dual Terminal Batteries are the best option

Speaking from the experiences i had trying to diagnose a bad ground issue in a 90's s10 with one of those stupid dual post batteries, they cause more problems than they are worth, never mind you double the chances of a battery short circuit

This makes very little sense. If you have a faulty ground connection that is not the battery's fault and how exactly does it double the chances of a short circuit?
