what is my rim width?
« on: October 29, 2016, 01:45:49 pm »
If I have p275mm tires on, thats 10.8 in inches.

does this mean i got 15x10 wheels?
or is it still possible I could have 15x8 wheels and theres just two inches extra tire?

my plan was to get some wide wheels on the rear and i was thinking 15x10 but it seems like ive already got that so i might want to go bigger.

Post a picture.  If stock it could be 6.5", 7" or 8" wide.  A picture would help us help you

really? 6.5" that doesnt really make sense to me if the rim is 6.5" how would a +10" tire fit on that. i dont know much about tires / wheels.
heres the tire width. its about 10.5

heres a shot of the rim, looks stock. 15"

Once upon a time "chrome" nuggets are aftermarket. Measure the width of the rim or stop in at any tire shop. They have a gauge that will measure the width.

There is also a stamp on the back side of the rim that will show dimensions. My after market shows 15X8 stamped just like rallys.

Those are 15x8" chrome circle wheels as most old school country folks call them. We had a set on an 80s 3/4 lwb years ago with the same size tire as well. These trucks in stock height do good with 255/70s or 275/60s front and rear. Whats crazy is all those cheap steel wheels rust in no time, and are heavy as well, along with being poor made, yet they are still very expensive.

okay hopefully your right. my plan is to get some x10" chrome wheels from   for the rears and i want them to be bigger than what i got.

im not too worried about rust, i used to fix rust on boats for a living down at the pier, plus the truck is always garaged its sort of a long term project for me.
other than the pro comp style wheels they are the cheapest wheel i can find that looks good and i only need to buy two cuz i got these already

i don't know if anyone cares, but my stock rims are 15 x 6" wide and weigh about 22-23 lbs. each.

These are the 5 X 5 bolt pattern.   And i do run 235/75Rs on the rear.
