Grandpa's truck
« on: September 05, 2017, 08:15:57 am »
After 10 years of trying to get it ( it has been sitting and getting started up twice a week) I finally got my grandpa's 73' Chevrolet c10 in 2 tone yellow and white. I grew up in and around this truck ,he used to have a slide in camper and we would go camping, as a teenager when my car would break down you knew as soon as you saw that big yellow truck coming down the street it was ok cause grandpa could fix anything. I could go on and on about how much this truck means to me but my dad and I have started a restoration on the truck and I'll be posting updates and questions . Thank you

Very nice looking, love the color combo and the fact it is the first year of the series.  Welcome from near St. Louis, MO!

I cant speak for Wichita, but the only car specific show I know of in el dorado is the charger show every year. if I remember correctly, it should be coming up here shortly

I know of a show every Friday here in Wichita , alot of mustang and Corvette guys . This spring when I'm finish with the restoration I'll find some shows to bring it out to . Maybe we could arrange a local cars and coffee type event at some point

I'm currently restoring my grandpas truck.  74 k25 4x4.  hopefully getting the body and paint done next month.  I'm all right with mechanics, no patience at all for body work.  also wish my grandpa had been a bit more maintenance oriented.  truck spent its whole life on a farm, minimal maintenance.
