Live wire in engine compartment ID

I have a hot wire connection coming through a wire loom that has 2 wires one is green and is connected to the head looks to be a temp, The other is a brown with a female connection that has nowhere to go. any ideas?  Edit, This is a 1975 C10 SWB Cheyenne with a 350/350 combo. Has oil pressure, water temp and amp gauges... speedo and fuel also. Thnaks

The green is engine coolant temp sender.  The "brown" is actually tan and is supposed to connect to an idle stop solenoid on the carburetor.

I have the same wire on my 74. Green is for temp sensor and the brown is for something else, not sure. It is hot all time key is on. In fact, it fell onto manifold and blew fuse for radio so I'm not sure what it goes to. I have an idle stop solenoid on mine that I connected to AC clutch hot wire so it is only energized when AC is on.
