454 block and crank questions

hey all,
I tore down that 454 I got for free and have a few questions. I'ts a 2 bolt main will that handle the 500 ponies and 500 # of Torque that I hope to achieve, and will a cast crank handle that or will I need to upgrade to steel.
I will not be towing anything or racing, it is going in my 83 half ton 4x4 and the 383 is coming out.  (yep, Mo power)

It can handle it just fine.  I ran the mess out of mine for 8 years that way, it is still together.  If it is going to be a street/driver car, it will be ok.

It's not exactly a daily driver, I'm building it for running up in the hills and sloggin' through the mud, but nothing too extreme I'm too old for that nonsense.

do you have a suggestion on head, cam profiles I'm shooting for 9.5-1 to 10.-1 comp. so I can still burn pump gas but enough comp. to get the power I want.
It looks like it's cheaper to go with a 119cc combustion chamber and use dome pistons to up the comp. will there be a problem with that scenario. I've never used dome's before and I'm a little leary.

I wouldn't run dome pistons on a 454, in fact you don't need but about 9:1.  You can make 500hp out of a flattop piston in a 454 with 119cc heads, and still run on pump gas.
