help me wire up my horn!
« on: July 07, 2006, 01:56:00 pm »
most of the inside of my steering column is missing >:

i don't have the little thing that gets pushed down and touches 2 and 2, and i just noticed another peice broke off (the little 1/2" metal that touches a wire?)

so if anyone can tell me (preferably with pics) how i can just hook it up with wires that would be cool! i have an aftermarket grant wheel...

also, what wires go to the actual horn? is it 2 green ones that go to one connector?

i bought 2 little train horns from vatozone, and they are loud! but when i hooked it up the way they said, it goes off when i connect it to the battery..

here is the wiring diagram for the horns...

i just noticed a 3 pole, 2 way on-on switch that goes between the original horn and the relay...anyone know if i can bypass this and just hook these air horns up as my stock horns?

Not sure what 3 pole switch you are talking about. Looks to me like the horn button grounds cavity 85 which causes the electromagnet to complete the circuit to the compressor which blows the horn. Just make sure you are using the proper ckt protection and correct gauge wire.
