What do you guys think about this build?
« on: August 30, 2007, 04:34:15 pm »
Hi, I was wondering how you guys think this truck will run? It is a 1985 c10 longbed 2wd pickup,we are building a 350 sbc with a B&M 144 supercharger(6-7 lbs. of boost),World Products S/R Torquer heads,a Comp Cams hydraulic flat tappet camashft with 262/280 advertised duration,218/230 duration@.050",.462"/.480" lift, and 113* lobe seperation. The compression is 8.75-1. The fuel pump is a Edelbrock Victor mechanical pump 130gph.The carburetor will be a custom Quick Fuel Technology 750. The headers are Heddman Elite 1 5/8" long tubes with 2.5" exhaust and flowmaster 50 series delta-flow mufflers. We will run probably 28* total timing,(anybody have any suggestions about timing?) The transmission is a 700R4,with 3.23 rearend gears and positrac.

How do you guys think it will run? Power estimates? This is a going to be a daily driver.

Thanks,any input is appriciated!!

I would say go a little bigger on that cam. What heads are you running? Definitely run big valves with the supercharger. Your other weak link is your final drive ratio. I would go with a 3.73 or 4.11 especially if you want to utilize 4th gear.

Looks good to me.  Blowers need more lobe seperation and you have that covered.  It is a blower cam?
Start with about 28 degree and work your way up to where it likes it.  I wouldn't go over 32.  A dyno would really come in handy tuning it.

I would say you can hit close to 450 pretty easy with that setup.
