Draining converter?

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing OK. I have a problem with my tranny. I have a 350/350 setup in a 78 Chevy c10 heavy half and I have a leak in my tranny that I can't seem to fix. I thought it was the pan gasket so I replaced that, replaced o-rings on speedo and detent cables and I still was having a leak occasionally. I noticed it most when I drove the truck really short distances like moving it frim the street to the driveway. When I did this it would really dump a lot of fluid. After a couple of times I decided to check the fluid level and when I pulled the tranny dip stick, the fluid was all the way to the top of the tube!

I've searched the archives and found some posts suggesting that it could be torque converter drain down. If I change the front seal, will this stop the drain down back into the pan?

Any help would be appreciated.

Does it do it when driving or while sitting?

If while sitting have you put a piece of cardboard down to determine where the leak is comming from?

And no, i'm not doing OK, but that's the subject of another post.  But thanks for asking.

Check the fluid level with the engine idling in Park. Wipe everything down and see if you can see where the leak is coming from while it's running. Are the cooler lines dry?

I'm going to replace the cooler lines and the front seal but befor I do I'll wipe 'er down and see if I can see a leak while it's idling. As far as I can tell the lines are dry, but I have a bright  trouble light I can take down there with me to make sure I get a good view. Someone else suggested "SEA FOAM" brand trans tune. They said it might be a valve sticking in the tranny.

No it's not a valve sticking in the tranny. just try to pinpoint the leak with your light.
