Board Update on Forums.
« on: September 18, 2006, 03:05:00 pm »
I am in the process of converting the board over from EZboard.  A few here have already seen it.  This will in essence a 4 step process.
1) setup the new board using php format. (completed)
2) convert ezboard posts to the php format (completed)
3) setup the new forum using SM format
4) convert the (at the time ) current php format to SM.

ALL new post from Saturday forward won't be on the new site at this time.  Conversion will have to be done again for the final.

The new forum will allow file uploaded and avitars (size limited) and will require email verification.  It will also be under my companies control and not EZboards.

This is my question to you.  Do you want to switch to the new board and have some downtime for the conversion, or keep EZBOARD open and potentially have a short amount of downtime when the second phase happens?

I personally think I will do the switch so everyone only has to have to swap once.  But I am open to opinions
Switch from EZboard to current phpBoard now and switch to Final later
Stay on EZboard until the Final board is up
Never leave EZBoard (not really an option, but..)

Hey Chris, I registered at the new board but it said my account is inactive. Is it too early to register?

I am not giving out the new address until the actual real board is ready.  I have a few people that are checking stuff out and that is it.  Don't worry, it is coming.

I've been inactive for awhile but it sure will be a welcome change to get away from ezboard- I wonder- did anyone ever buy anything advertised?
BTW Chris, are you looking for member donations to offset any costs incurred?

Donations are always welcomed.  And I would LOVE to have some of it offset with donations.  Right now it isn't required though...
