« on: July 05, 2008, 05:58:18 pm »
for the 4th of july i had to drive my 76 chevy with my dirt bike in the back for 35 miles out to a friends house so i could go riding with him...... but normly i just drive my truck around town to work and to take some girls out and stuff like that. but when i drive around town i get 5 mpg! so i was scared to take my truck all the way out there.......but i drove all the way out there and back and my gas gage didnt even move!!!!

I think I would fill the tank up to see if the gauge and sender are working correctly.

You've got serious issues. My buddies 800hp bb gets better mileage than your truck...

A heavy foot makes for bad mileage..I've never actually seen a full time 4wd chevy truck that got better than 6-8 mpg no matter how you drive it nor what the condition of the motor is/was..one of my co-workers has a 77 2wd 3/4 ton w/ 4.11 gears and an sm465 and a freshly rebuilt mild 350 and has never seen better than 8 mpg, and thats with a light foot..
