individual gauge installation questions

(I did a search to see if I could find info on this but was unsuccessful, so forgive me if this has been discussed in an earlier thread)

My truck was built with warning lights rather than gauges.

1.  Is it possible to replace the warning lights with individual gauges?
2.  If the lights are replaced with GM gauges, is the printed circuit sheet required to make them work, or can the gauges be wired separately?
3.  Could I remove the warning lights and replace them with individual aftermarket gauges, and somehow mount them in the factory locations (and still use the factory-style bezel)?
4.  Anyone already done this?

It can be done. Do a search for swapping gauges to refresh an earlier post when you were a new guy.

1) Yes, but it is best if you replace the complete cluster assembly from a comparable year truck.  You cannot put gauges where the warning lights were
2) See above, you cannot put gauges where warning lights were.  The printed circuit is also specific to the cluster configuration

Thanks.  Both write-ups are good info.  DnStClr -- here I thought I was making progress and its become painfully obvious that my truck to-do list is moving along so slowly!  Apparently I keep adding items to the list that become higher priorities.  I do believe though, that even when the to-do list is complete, the truck will never be finished!
