Hello all!!! I looked at the previous discussions for the speedo, and couldn't quite find the answer that I am looking for. (Always needs to go one step further.) I have an '81 Chevy that has a 350 with a TH350 which is a reman transmission. When I unhook the speedo cable from the transmission, and spin the cable with a drill, the needle will move. When it is hooked up to the transmission it does nothing. I took the tail housing off the transmission and the gears look like new. The 'drive' gear for the speedo (light green in color) is solid on the shaft. When I put the housing back on, and put it in gear (engine running, drive shaft disconnected) where the speedo cable is attaches to doesn't spin. My questions are these, is there something that I am missing, is there a bigger gear that needs to be on the transmission shaft, and if so where would I get it? I tried to give as much information as I can. If there is any other info that I needed please let me know. Thanks for your help.
