Custom Half Cab - 1975 GMC Jimmy

Finally got around to installing the Half Cab I bought about 2 years ago... this is just a temporary installation to science out the wall between the floor and the bottom of the back half of the cab.

I've never seen one of these on a truck before so I'm not sure how they were originally configured so I'm going to build a separater wall out of wood to seal up the cab and double as a speaker enclosure.  Also need to get some driver's and passenger's side window rubber seals as it didn't have any when I bought it.

After it's all scienced out and dialed-in, I'll remove it and make some fiberglass repairs to the best of my ability and then paint it either red or black, probably black.  Here's a few pictures...

I still have to upgrade the heater blower motor, I've been reviving the life to a 1974 Datsun Truck so I have a gas mileage truck to drive when I take this one down to remove the 350 small block and install the 454 big block.
(1975 and older cars and truck don't have to be smogged in in California, thus the reason I'm working on this old truck)

Should get the registration and tags tomorrow so after it's tweaked till it's reliable the Jimmy's going down...

Nice, I would paint the K5 top White or Red.  I would make it red if it were mine.

I agree the orange doesn't look good with the red, in fact it clashes.  Just to note, I pulled the half cab out of a dusty storage shed after being stored for about 2 years and in less than an hour had the threads cleaned that hold the top on, did some customizing for the roll bar and had it bolted on.

Next is to build a wood wall between the back bottom side of the top and the floor and sides of the truck bed.  After everything is build and scienced out then the top will come off and get worked over and painted.

Time, that's all I need is time...
