Remove the bolt that goes through the pinion shaft and slide it straight out. push in the axles to remove the c-clip but do not rotate the axle or the spider gears will fall out.

well thanks for all the info guys.
well i finished teardown and well im back at square 1.
the pinion gear has 1 tooth chipped.
and from all the horror stories of the gov lock im debating parting this one out and ordering all new stuff.
now from a stand point of cost and performance what do you all think of this combo?

rebuild of my factory 10 bolt.
summit 3.42 gears.
and a PowerTrax lock-right locker in the factory carrier.
cost wise its looking in the mid $500 range before install.
good combo for a Daily/Street/Drag running?
1985 C10 LWB: gone but never forgotten

2020 Mustang GT: 6sec 1/8mi driver
