Electric brake controller hook up.
« on: April 22, 2009, 05:40:48 pm »
Has anyone found an easy spot to tie into for the brake wire on an electric brake controller for trailer brakes? I know some newer trucks have a terminal on the fuse block that is only 12V when the brake pedal is pressed.
I just don't want to cut into the trucks wiring harness if I don't have to. Thanks.

If you look at the bulkhead connector you'll find a harness junction below to your rear lighting. Everything is right there

i just used that little splicer bock thing that came with the controller and taped right to the brakelight switch then taped the rest right into the wire harness at the end of the bed using the 4 flat connector thats right there. the only wire i had to run was for the brake controller from the cab to the trailer plug
