Jimmy body panels

Hi all , hoping for some info.
How is the 'bed' attached to the cab on Jimmy / Blazer
What is involved in getting the 'whole body' off to the frame?

It's part of the whole tub. To get it off you'd need to remove everything connected to the frame and drivetrain. Any electrical wiring and take it off as an assembly. I would strip it as bare as possible first.

So it is all one unit , does anyone have a pic of that??
Looking at a 88 fullsize Jimmy and wondering what I'm getting into...never had one

Check out this thread,there are a few pics. of my 84 blazer. There are 8 bolts connecting the body to the frame and like Vile said any electical,drivetrain,gas tank,ect..connections.This is not including the front clip.

Was a plow truck , is there anything I sould look for because of that??

from my understanding a blazer is harder to fix then a pickup but it can be done depends on where it is rusted at but it being a 88 should not be bad

If it's an old plow truck I would worry about rust, the rear 10 bolt, and the 700R4 if it's an auto.

Paid $1000 for it
Has some bad spots but worth it for sure.

Looks nice for a plow truck.
The first place I would check is behind those running boards they allways rot out the rocker panels.

Couple of other places to look at.Poke your head in the rear wheel wells and look forward.Usually rust is around that area and also look inside of your truck and behind the pass seat theres the side panels next to the rear seat.Look inbetween the panel and the 1/4 and if you see daylight eh it may be either bad or good. I had a 83 k5 and i replaced the pass rocker panel and i remember looking on the inside and the rear panel was moved just slightly and i seen daylight a little bit in that area.Needless to say i ended up selling it.
