Gas Tank Brackets?
« on: March 28, 2009, 06:26:48 pm »
Hey does anyone know where I could get the gas tank brackets that bolt to the frame, that the straps hook to and then wrap around the tank? I'm almost positive that   truck and JC Whitney dont have them, I have looked several times. The ONLY place where I have found them is American Classic Truck parts...BUT there $88 a peice. Does anyplace sell them cheaper does anyone know?

I got mine from the local Chevy dealer.  I could not find anyone that made them for the aftermarket.  Straps are available aftermarket.

I'd go to a boneyard or swap meet for them.

Used oem ones work better than the dealer replacements. So try to find a good used pair first. If you can't go to the dealer.

I buy mine from the dealer. You will need to weld new nuts onto them as they only come with holes.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

I used pieces of business card to hold the nuts in the box end wrench.
