th-350 trans help needed
« on: April 07, 2009, 10:00:50 am »
when me, my stepdad, and my stepdads brother rebuilt my trans,,we used a b&m kit with all parts needed, every clutch disk and spacer was put in corectly, also we put a b&m shift kit in it, after i got the truck back together i put fluid in it and tryed it out,,,,,,,i kept takin it through all the gears, checkin the fluid every 5 min or so, the problem is it still dont want to move,,when i put it into drive,2, and 1,,,u feel it kick slightly and then u rev the motor and the truck just sits there, its full but not overfull on fluid, im kinda thinkin there is a ball stuck, or the plate for the shift kit was drilled wrong,,,,,,,,,,any ideas???thanks for the time guys.

First thing to do is a pressure test. Do you have access to a trans oil pressure gauge?

Seems as thou your not getting pressure to apply the clutches. did yall replace the front pump? something aint right. did the valves in the valve body check out ok and are in right? Use a good torque converter?

You will see a pressure tap on the side of the trans. I believe it's 1/8" pipe thread. Screw it into there and report back your pressures in each gear range at idle. In park report your pressure at 2000 RPM.
