windshield wipers

my window shield wipers turn on by themselves while the truck is on for a while i checked the switch make sure its off but it keeps doing it and i even tried disconnecting the machine where it gets the power from but that jsut made the wipers go faster. what can i do? any ideas or suggestions please.
