I guess I just appreciate a band that doesn't take itself too seriously and they seemed to be pioneers in that respect.

i don't know much about them, so i can't really comment.  Maybe tell us more?   i guess if they are british, then yes, they probably are awesome.   

Also, suggest UFO;  i've recently "discovered" them as well by accident.

Well if it's good music from the 60's and 70's it is almost invariably British.  So yes, they are.  But don't assume you'll like them until you try them, LOL.  They are a far cry from the mainstream music of the time.  I think that's why I like them.

BTW, the reason I phrased the title of this thread the way I did was to set myself up for easy insult.  I'm not actually under the delusion that they are "one of the coolest bands ever."  But I do like them, maybe the same way I like Primus.

However, I'll put a link here of someone I just discovered after watching "The Grizzly Man" about that psycho who lived 13 yrs with the grizzly bears in Alaska before gettin eat up by one...there is a song at the end of that movie called Coyotes that kind of struck a chord in me.  Anyway, here is a link to an album on Amazon which has sound samples...and you will say, 'it is just me'...to each their own...
