Homebuilt Traction Bars?

Several years ago I read a post or article about a set of homebuilt traction bars a member had built for these trucks. I've done a search, but nothing has turned up. (might not have been on this site?) Does anyone remember anything about this? I'd like to build a set and it sounded like these really made the truck hook up.

There are some pics there, but if you read through the thread, that member specifically states that he won't share dimensions or detailed instructions because Chris sells the real Caltrac bars here.
