I have a set of drop coil springs i want to put on my 86 c10. do u need to install lowering shocks or can u just use factory style shocks

How much drop? If it is more than 1-1.5" I would get more shocks. as in 3" drop, definitely.

i belive its like a 2-3 inch drop the are ground for coil springs

I used 2" drop springs on mine with stock shocks without a problem.
