I recently installed a 700r4 in my 89 suburban and i have no gears, only park. I filled it with fluid and overfilled it and drained it and still have nothing. Any idea what could be wrong? Its 2wd and has a 350 smallblock in it. Thanks in advance.

Well at least you have park! What's the trans out of? Is the converter installed correctly and bolted to the flexplate? The filter is installed? If so check your pressure.

The trans is out of a 93ish chevy 1/2 ton. The filter is installed and the converter is bolted in, i checked those already. I had the trans in a drivable state before and it ran fine, then i rebuilt the engine and now the trans don't work.

Was there any difficulty lining the engine and trans up? Perhaps you damaged the pump on installation. Check your pressure next assuming your shift linkage is hooked up

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it. I'm going to pull it out and send it out to get repaired. I don't know enough to fix it, i tried and failed so I'm cutting my loses and having a professional take care of it.
