rear window glass

My 84 C10 has the sliding rear window, I just picked up the solid glass for it and was wondering how to remove the sliding window without damaging the gasket. I need to re-use the gasket on the new glass. I know how to put it in, just dont know how to remove without causing damage to the gasket, anyone know how to do this

I use a broad edge pry bar an push the rubber out past the pinch weld.

there are 2 different ways that the moulding is shaped for.some will roll in toward the cab and others will roll out. The lip on the moulding will be around the outside edge...a easy example is pop your lights out if you have the rubber seal around them. Like every custom flat deck has..****you can also use a big flat pry bar***  hope this helps, spent a cpl years doin autoglass

what lights are you talking about, whats that got to do with the window glass, maybe I misunderstood you

As a smaller example look at the way the moulding on the lights fits in. in the picture i added you can see the moulding but on a truck its not so deep..the rubber should have an H shape if you were to cut it. Another example is in a SKIDSTEER, you can only pop the back window out not into the cab..Im lookin for a photo of just the rearwindow but no luck yet

still dont understand what lights you are talking about, what do lights have to do with the rear window. Its already done but tryin to figure out what you are talking about What Lights

Start at the corner and start rolling the gasket put with some pressure on it

Thanks Capt. worked perfect, only took about 5 min to get it out and another 5 min to get the one peice window in. Looks alot better than the slider
