OK my bud has a harvester and there's a problem with the clutch  it seams and I know I got some farming buds or someone knows a little about the clutches on theses things but it will start and work fine until there's is weight on the rear ex. He stalled it while going up a hill and it locked up. If he pressed in the clutch it wouldn't work the tractor wouldn't even roll down the hill. almost as if he wasn't even pushing in the clutch. Then they hooked the big green tractor to it just moved it up the hill about a foot and tried to start it clutch worked and he was off again

It sounds like either the main clutch or the TA is out of adjustment. I think all the IH amplifier setups are basically the same. Check this out:

That kind of walks you through the adjustment. We had an Allis WD45 that used to have similar symptoms, and it was a cracked friction plate. It would work fine until you put it under load or got the revs too high. If it's not the adjustment one or both sides of the amp or the main clutch is probably toast.

Well we looked it over and the ta wasn't even adjusted right but even when we did adjust it the return spring wasn't sprung enough to pull the ta back in place. Have to look at it more to see if the ta might be toast
