basement has canned food to get me by for weeks.  Keep packs of Ramen Noodles just in case.  I have plenty camping gear to use (stoves, lanterns, grill) in case of power outage, and, two generators that I hook directly to an electrical outlet in my house (via an extension cord with two male ends) and portable gas containers usually full.  I have no problems if we have hurricanes, snow storms, earthquakes, meteorite strike, nuclear holocaust, earth's poles reversing, etc. I don't need eggs within a week or two ever.  TP?  I am never under 3 or 4 rolls in this house, so, I can wait a while.  And best of all, I have plenty of guns and ammo to protect what I got.  ;D

So, why do people rush to stores before a storm?  At most, I may top off my 4 vehicles w/ gas--that'll last us over a month.
