need help decoding engine numbers

ok so i bought this blazer the guy says its a 350 so i pulled the code on the passenger side behind the alt on the block and this is what i got 171112252 K09 13 02R I cant seem to find any codes even close enough to it or suffix codes ??? could some one help me out thanks

The block casting number will be a maximum of 8 digits long so something is not right with your number. They can be pretty hard to read sometimes. Maybe take the wire brush to it and try again.

Check behind the PS head, above the oil filter for the casting number.

well guys I double checked that block casting and i made a mistake its 171112252 K09 13 C2R and again thats behind the alt if that still dont sound right  il have  to try to read the code thats beside the dist. thanks marc

ChevyMania.com says suffix code c2r is a 305

If you want to find out what kind of block it is you need to get the number off the back of the bellhousing.

K0913 C2R
K = St. Catherines, Ontario
09 = September
13 = 13th
CR2 = 1975 350 Chevelle

The other numbers are a partial VIN, which apparently won't match your truck
