Well after blowing up the wiring diagram in the tech pages it looks like I have been misinformed on the vacuum switch for the TC lockup.
It is controlled by the ecm when it get's a signal from the trans that it's in 4th.
Does anyone know if there is anything else that the ecm looks for to lock it up?
The reason I ask is that we're not using the ecm to control the engine.

The vacuum switch looks like the one mounted in the cowl to control switching from fresh air to recirculating. It would be mounted in the passenger side cowl under the plastic cowl screen..BTW, great looking work and I'll second the use of stainless bolts... Keep up the good work....

Yes that is the fresh air door that goes in the cowl.

More progress today. That actuator goes in the right kick panel for vent air.  The lockup will be controlled by a vacuum switch with a 5 blade Bosch relay.

That's some good info in that link. I figured out a way to do the same thing with the factory switches and a $10 relay and a vacuum switch. I'll draw it up and post it later this week.

Does anyone know what this bracket inside the frame rail is for?

Best thing for removing rust, I drop em in vinegar for a few days and give em a rinse with baking soda and water.
