I just got done scrapping a 94 S-10 4X4 Blazer that had a good Vortec 4.3 and 700R4 in it. I got it to use the really nice fully loaded interior and a few other things on my daughters blazer. I posted it on Craigslist in the "AUTO PARTS" section, the add said:

"94 S-10 4X4 Blazer No interior, no windshield, no rt side door and no fenders or hood.
Engine and 4X4 drivetrain works good. Selling parts or whole. $400"

Within 10 minutes I had several calls asking if it could be to driven Michigan! I had calls asking if it would be a good car for a 16 year old to drive! Had calls asking if it would be reliable to get them to work and back!!!!!!  I was like "What add are you calling on????"

This went on for the next hour, probly 25 calls each asking if it was a nice daily driver...... I pulled the add and loaded her up with metal and hauled her in!
UH-OH  I'M GONNA NEED A BIGGER BANDAID!!!!!

Couple years back I put an add on CL. 1966 Chevy truck, 3/4 ton 4x4. Newer frame early 80s vintage. nice job mounting older body onto newer chassis. 350, TH400 trans only has reverse. 10 bolt front end, 14 bolt SF rear. Cab, hood, and fenders very rusty, Floor and cab mounts bad. Bed fair, doors very nice. Good glass, aluminum wheels. Make a great parts truck.
The add had four pics two of the outside from both sides, one of the inside, and one under the hood. The inside, and under hood ones you could plainly see the rust holes! If you looked close you could see the rust in the fenders and hood in the other two pics. I must have gotten 40 calls asking.
Is it inspectable? Is it fixable? Can you fix the rust with bondo? Can I drive it home? Yup if you want to back up the whole way! Would you sell the tires? Sure they are bald, I will sell them to you! Whats it got for mufflers? Etc. etc..
Stupid people shouldn't be aloud to breed!

I tried to sell my 67 Le Mans convertable on there a few months ago for 2500.  I said right in the add I tore the car apart because i was going to get the frame repaired and powder coated.  I had my share of idiots asking if you could drive it right then and there.  The one guy made me so mad I took the add off and said I'll finish the car once I learn the limits of my right arm and what I could do now since I got hurt.  but that guy kept calling and asking what my bottom dollar was for the car so I told him 1500 thats what I had in it and thats what I wanted out of it.  He told me 3 diffrent times he would come see the car and I told him bring a small box truck.  The last time he called me and said he got a 68 Le Mans hard top for 1000 it ran and was in good shape, and asked if i would go a 1000 on mine.  I got mad and said the car is worth a lot more then I'm selling it for and if you find another 67 convertable for 1000 buy it, because mine is now asking price of 2500 and hung up on him.

Don't get me started on this type of site. A well known auction site, I advertised an engine for spares/rebuild , photo's without the head etc so just the block. Started at $50. Questions ranged from "if it doesn't sell, can I have it for free" and "is it complete and ready to run"

Both questions got a rather sarcastic answer! I don't suffer fools  :D

I also sold a 6foot old rickety wooden step ladder. The guy collecting it wanted to saw it in half so he could carry it on the train!

Goes to show we've got em over here too  :o

Nothing wrong with that, two ladders for one price!

I'm reminded of the time I was trying to sell my 1985 GMC.

1 ton, 4x4 with a 350 and a 4 speed....bit of a rotten body but it had a solid drive train for the mileage, ran nicely too.

The guy wanting it, wanted it for a farm truck.  Something for around the yard, and for $500 delivered to his yard, how could he go wrong.

I had it loaded on the trailer, an hour drive to the guy's place and he decides he doesn't want it because it's rusty.  Well what do you expect?  I told you it's rusty, its 25 years old!!!

Then he's asking me where I'm taking it and what I'm doing with it.  He's telling me to call wreckers and see what they'd give me for it.....he just wanted it for practically nothing, if not absolutely free.

I was so mad I could have punched the guy out.

I just drove away....still annoyed about it though.

Well I had a positive Craigslist encounter today. I put a 9' Fisher plow on there yesterday morning. Within an hour I had a guy call, said he would be by as early as I wanted to pick it up. He lived over an hour away. I told him 7:30 / 8:00 AM would be fine with me, but if he wanted a little later was fine as well. He called at 7:30 said her was about ten mins out. Looked at it, offered $25 less than I was asking, I said sold. $300! Loaded it in the back of his truck, and off he went!
Funny thing is he lives right near where I bought my 86 K30 dump that the plow came from.
