Hood Stuck Closed
« on: May 27, 2011, 09:13:10 am »
my 78 K10 doesn't have an inside latch and the hood spring (singular) is garbage. i was doing some wheeling and must have torqued the body because the hood wont open. it has never been easy, had to us a big screw drive and a hammer to get it open, and a buddy sitting on the kink in the hood above the drivers side wheel to get it closed. now i think the lever up front is bent up so far fromt he hammering it wont release. I'm gonna do hood pins if i can just get it open. is there ANY way to get around the lever thats bent? I'm starting to think last resorts. any help would help.

You should be able to gain access from behind the grille?  Is the outside latch broken, or the spring broken?
