Ok I was driving my 79 to work yesterday morning when a bolt fell down from directly over my left foot.
I checked the clutch real quick to make sure it would still disengage and kept driving. Drove my car today and crawled under the dash when I got home and here is what I found.

So I can tell where it swings up and bolts back into position, but I don't know what the heck it is?

Can somebody take a few minutes to educate me please because I'm only vaguely familiar with the mechanical clutch linkage on these trucks.
Also I have a painfully annoying squeak that will not go away when depressing the clutch. I have tried spraying all the linkage places I can see with white grease but the squeak still persists. I was wondering if the ends of the pedal return spring behind the dash are supposed to have bushings in there or are they supposed to be metal to metal contact like this one?

Thanks for any help!
