Parts shed... where do you store your stuff
« on: September 08, 2011, 04:39:37 pm »
I've been off for a week of vacation and have been busy cleaning, organizing and purging a lot of stuff and thought this may be a good topic to share ideas...  Pictured is one of two shed I have of car/truck parts.  It was a 6x9 office used like a guard shack but 2 desks were originally in there and when a truck had a load of solvent to deliver to the factory the worker would pull a sample and our analytical lab would check purity and make sure it is the right solvent since there was over 50 tanks of bulk solvent on site.  The factory closed and I was given the shed.  Since my Chevelle days are over I either tossed or listed excess on eBay.  Did the same with the other stuff I have collected over the years as well as tossed a bunch of junk in the Suburban parts truck for weight.  I have another shed that I will take a picture of that was also given to me but that one was a lot more work

Moderators, please remove the other duplicate topic, I mistakenly made the picture too large even though it was under 128KB

My parts shelf is my back seat, I'd be prepared to fix just about anything but an engine or tranny on a road trip lol, even my welder lives back there next to the car seat.

The first one shown up blank on me, couldn't read what it said.  I just read the size restrictions and I was bigger than the 800x600 size.  Please just remove the other one, Thanks

Since I am buying a house next summer, and the place I am in does not have a garage, I have my parts/trucks at work, in a rv storage where I live and renting space at another yard.
The house I want to buy ( retiree's moving ) has a sweet 50' x 30' two story shop on it with 2 rv doors, man door and office built into it.  I can't wait, though my wife is not too happy with the thought of me having that big of a shop.

I've got a 10x12 storage unit that has the bulk of my parts collection in it. I'm saving up for a 20' storage container that I can put at the yard at work. Then I can stop having to pay to store my 73 cab and frame that have been bleeding me for the last couple years while I get the motivation to go back to work on them.

I have a 40' shipping container (AKA sea can) sitting out here on the farm.

It's got some house stuff, truck parts and I even keep new steel in there to keep it dry and hold off the rust a bit.

I've still got parts scattered all over the shop that I'm slowly picking away at and trying to clean up.  Just didn't have anywhere good to put it all before I got the sea can.

They are great storage if you have the space for them.
