pre bent fuel lines
« on: October 23, 2011, 11:30:27 pm »
so i broke the main fuel line today on my 87 tbi. right after the filter in the frame rail. is there anywhere to get stock original lines for these trucks without spending a fortune at inline tube that wants $140 for one line and 120 for the return line. temporary fix i have already but the lines are all in lousy shape so i want to just replace them all  eventually

You could do it yourself...Harbor Freight sells small tubing benders really cheap that should fit your fuel line. Also, pick up a flaring tool and the fittings you'll need, as well as a couple sticks of tubing. Pull out your lines one at a time, bend it to shape first, then cut off the excess. After that, slide the ends on and flare it. It's not hard, just time consuming. It will probably save you money, plus it's a good excuse to buy some new tools... :)

I recommend going with the poly coated hard lines.  They are much easier to work with and reduce your liklihood of kinking one while bending them.  I get mine at O'Reilly.  I'm sure other vendors have them too.

Make your own. Dorman also sells the replacement ends for EFI
