Wont start

I changed steering columns. Everything went smooth everything plugged in and lined up. I turned key and heard a crack and a puff of smoke from engine bay. I found a blown fuse I replaced it and replugged everything into old column  I am getting power to starter and the wire coming to fuse box  but nothing after. The headlights work and turn signals. But nothing else. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what fuse blew? what are you working on?

     Need to know truck year/series, and did you swap the same steering assy. or switched to something different with different options ?

Is it a stick? If it is check for the cable connecting to the clutch it may be disconnected. Once you reconnect it, your truck should fire right up.

autos also have n.s.w. we just need more to be able to start guessing

Its an 1983 chevy k10 350 4sd. The fuse was a 20 amp one on top right of panel. changed fuse still nothing. clutch is hooked up.
