I like any good teenager would like the better traction of a locking dif; but like most teenagers can't afford them. So to the point: i was wondering if any of you guys know how well these work

Aaaah yes the lock right locker used and installed many. Good entry level diff upgrade must currently hAve open diff so check that your current diff is not a limited slip also they will grenade with an over aggressive right foot, however a little Common sense and a lock right is definitely a great choice

Well right foot "twitching" will be kept to a minimum do to i can't afford to keep 33in mts on there if they are always mysteriously smoking
It will mostly be for off road use.

All right thanks. I had asked because I know auto locking difs tend to jerk and what not on the road, and since this will be my only vehicle i don't wont to be wearing stuff out when I drive on the road.

Summit is running a sale:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PWT-1910-LR/
You can download installation instructions from here, too.
You'll experience some loud snapping/popping/banging from the unit on turns for awhile, but it will 'graudually' diminish over 12k - 15k miles.

As philliday1 stated, a very good entry level locker, used many in jeeps before I upgraded for air lockers. Surprisingly they work very well off road also, especially in mud.

Well I probably won't be making use of that sale since i probably won't be able to buy them till fall at the soonest. I was more wondering weather to save for that or a lift kit.
