When i bought my truck guy was using a piece of chain the was bolted on the hood latch with a pad lock. I took it off i live in a nicer area.

One thing I did on my '69 Charger (and probably to my Chevy soon too) was I made a steel plate that bolted right in the door shell, custom cut to enclose the locking mech so it is literally impossible for anyone to get a wire in there and pull the lock open. Yeah they could just smash the window if they were desperate, but if they aren't then they sure won't be getting in.

thanks all for the great ideas, i have a chain from hood down with a padlock for the meanwhile lol. i will be looking into a alarm very soon

i also like the idea.. there are systems that use google maps to pin point the location of the vehicle.. they sell this GPS trackers on eBay for example.. pretty cheap too..
