need lbs to torque upper control arms
« on: January 07, 2007, 04:33:00 PM »
i replaced the L shaped piece that's on the front crossmember, and it holds the upper control arm. yes, the one that is riveted to the crossmember. how tight should i torque down that piece to the frame? there are 4 bolts. and how tight should i torque down the upper control arms?

For the upper control arms they are 70 ft.lbs.

On the control arm bracket, I would probably have welded it back on, but...  I would say as tight as you can get it with some High strength bolts, 90ft.lbs maybe.

i meant the 4 bolts that hold it in from the factory, the ones against the frame not the crossmember

I run them in with an air impact roughly 120ft.lbs.  Or tight
