Auto colum shift removal
« on: April 18, 2014, 12:21:42 pm »
So I'm now workin on my interior and another thing I need to address is the "shaft" for the auto shifter that's on the colum.... I know the easiest way to do this is change the colum to a standard one but in all the local scrap/pick n' pull yards there is only one... And if I took it I would loose my tilt and cruise.
I've tried knocking the pin out with no luck, just wondering if there's something I'm missin, an easier way to do this, or if I just need to keep trying to get the pin out...

Thanks

If you are referring to the shift lever then it is held in with a pin that knocks out. If I remember correctly it has a small "flare" on the top side that will only let it come out by knocking from below. Perhaps this is to keep it from falling out. It also has a small amount of tension from the spring on the end of the lever.
