TV Cable Help

Ok guys, here's the deal. My TV cable is to short to reach the carb. Some of you know I have a new engine in my truck (79 C20, std cab long bed). I have installed a 89 700R4. So for has gone pretty good. Now I installed the tv cable at the trans, then hooked it into the bracket on the intake and it doesn't reach the linkage. Note: carb is a Holley 4160 series 600 cfm electric choke, pt #0-80457S.

At relaxed position it's about 6 inches or so to short, at fully extended positions it's about 3 inches or so to short. I know you can't run it fully extended because it messes with the line pressure and all that.

Does anyone know of an aftermarket cable or cable from a big block is longer or some kind of other cable type that will fit? Can I build a little extension arm that bolts to the linkage that will just extend the attaching point back closer so I can join it up and get it adjusted?

Just ran into a similar problem on my 350 with Edelbrock carb and intake. The stock TV/throttle cable bracket won't work with my combination. I chose to buy a bracket rather than trying to modify a stock bracket. Also had to buy a piece of linkage to bolt to the carb to provide the correct geometry for the TV cable travel. Holley probably makes linkage and brackets for your setup too.

Oh really? I know they make brackets. I actually used the stock bracket, cut it in half and then bent them a little. So spray paint and good to go. They look good and work good. I'm gonna check on the Holley linkage. Thanks.

Got this problem fixed. Found a piece of small flat bar steel at home. Cut to bout length, 1/4 inch hole on either end, problem solved. Seems to work good too. I got the cable set properly.

Anyone know how to re-adjust or take the slack out of the gas pedal cable?
