« on: April 13, 2015, 10:26:21 pm »
I'm in the process of removing my transmission on my 81 chevy 4x4 manual and I have everything off and ready to go except I can't seem to get the zbar off does anyone have any tips or tricks to get it off?

There is a clip on both ends.  Once there off losen the rod that pushes against the clutch fork and it should be easy to remove.

There is a hex on the inside

Where it bolts thru the frame bracket

There is a nut on the outside and if you look close with a bright flashlight you will see a hex on the other end after it passes thru the bracket
You can slip a open end wrench on it to stop it from turning and then remove the nut on the drivers side of the bracket
Wish tapatalk would let me post pictures

I've got the nut off the frame side but that doesn't seem to loosen it or help at all
