Dakota Digital gauges.

Alrighty,

Did a 5.3 and 4l60e swap into my 86 C20, meaning my gauges no longer work for my all electronic engine. I was thinking Dakota Digital. I know you get the gauge cluster itself with it, but what all else comes with it? I will be using an Art Carr / Winters gated shifter for my trans, not the column gear selector. Will the Gauges still pick up on which gear I'm in?

Then. How difficult would it be to make the gauges work with the LS engine? would it just be taking the wires from the ECU and running them into the gauge panel ( Speed, RPM's)? Then for Oil, volt, water temp, etc. they're all actual sensors, correct?

I see there's two models of gauges. There's the all digital gauges, that just have numerics on them for everything, then there's some that look like OEM gauges, that have analog gauges. Is there any difference to hooking up each of these gauge pods?

Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

Have you considered calling Dakota Digital? Their customer service is pretty good.

The gauges come with all the sensors and hardware for hookup.  If you look at my build for R10 Driver I took several pics of the install.  You just run the wires to the controller.  For LS motors you can buy a OBD expansion to have it display the ecm info also.

Both styles use the same contoller.

I am a dealer for them if you need more info, email me webmaster at 73-87chevytrucks.com

I just installed them in my 81 along with all new interior. I got the carbon fiber faced one with blue background. all sensors hook to the motor and trans wires run to the supplied box. Real simple and clean install i find. A little pricey but again they are worth the money.
