305/Edelbrock 1411 adapter gasket help
« on: April 24, 2016, 11:47:03 pm »
Right so I've noticed after letting my truck run and warm up a bit that when I shut it off I notice some what I'd have to call smoke coming from the gasket that's between the intake manifold and the carb adapter. At the top of the gasket you can see a small section that's blackened where the smoke's coming from. Is this a heat insulator gasket or some over kind I need to get? I already planned on replacing the carb/adapter gasket to be on the safe side but I'm not sure what one the adapter/manifold gasket is.
If it ain't broke don't fix it, upgrade it!

i think you just need a new carb base gasket. can pick them up at the parts store, not 100 % sure if i understand you right but the "black" part of the gasket can be fuel seeping out and if you have that big of a leak you will have poor running conditions also due to a large vacuum leak
