Thanks guys for all your help so far I'm new to this forum and I am definitely a fan I will keep yall updated as I go with it I paid 1500 for it has bad motor fuel pump pump gas into motor thinning out oil I'm gunna try to keep the classic look with it only a 4 inch lift with narrow tires on the old steelies have 350 4 bolt main goin in next week true dual exhaust X pipe and super 40s to come as well and will be checking in to getting the ac working

Very nice, my brothers(well now my parts truck) was same way was definitely 1 ton, but the vin and glove box codes were all medium duty truck stuff(2.73 gearing 5 speed and two speed rear end)

Welcome. As many members have mentioned, it appears someone has done some moving of parts.

This is evident by:
1-the "big 10" sticker on the bed. As they mentioned, big 10 was for 2wd models only.
2-the front axle according to some members doesn't match for a 79, it does look correct for an earlier 70s model.
3-though the hood is correct for a 79-80 model truck, the grille and headlight bezels are not, they are 78 and earlier.
4-the dash trim, fender emblems, body side emblems(behind the door), door panels inside are all correct for late 70s.
