Lowering the rear
« on: March 02, 2016, 06:14:16 am »
Has anyone lowered just the rear of their truck using just the drop shackles to make their truck look level?

I have never done it, but I know of one local truck that has drop shackles(they look to be about 1.5" longer) looks good, still has a slight rake that is barely noticeable, and figure it has to ride like stock. I have never talked to the owner, as I only normally see it when going going to the grocery store.

I have. I installed shackles in the rear to lower 2".  Truck sits level now. I also had to notch a piece out of my bed rail for clearance. Not a big deal though.

Thanks. I'll be using the 2"drop shackles. Do you have any pics after you installed the shackles? My truck is a short bed.

Can someone post a pic of the notch they had to put in the bed rail when installing the drop shackles? I'm getting ready to install m shackles and don't want to cut to much out.

Okay, I found the thread where the drop shackles were installed and showed a pic. It looked to be about 4" wide and 1.5" up.
