87 suburban tbi idle surge
« on: May 14, 2016, 08:14:08 pm »
Picked the truck up last week, did half a tune up on it today, plugs, wires , cap rotor, check engine light comes on erratically. Haven't pulled codes or changed fuel filter, drove it 300 miles home when I picked it up. On throttle tip in it Loozes power and runs like poop intermittently. When I did plugs today I noticed a broken connector, it goes to nowhere. here is a pic. What's the next thing I should look at

Thanks!

Check all of your sensors that the ECM needs to make sure they are there and connected as well as the ones for spark control.
Tps, Iac, temp, o2, knock sensor, etc...

As far as the connector just solely based on location it could be for the A/C clutch that seems to be missing  (?)

A/c compressor is there, everything else seems to be plugged in, I found article on codes so I'll pull them tomorrow.

Surging usually indicates a vacuum leak

That looks like it might belong to the IAC solenoid.
