After Market TBI System?
« on: February 10, 2007, 05:29:00 pm »
I was just wondering how much of a job it would be to put an after market Throttle Body System in a 78 gmc? The motor is 5.7L 350.

fuel pump, fuel lines, adapter and tbi unit, wiring and sensors, ecm and time. I don't really see the point in an aftermarket TBI system when the GM ones worked just fine and are readily available fairly cheap. I bought a 91 Suburban for $200 bucks and kept all the EFI stuff and sold the engine, drivetrain, many other parts and made about $2k on it so a donor would be a lot cheaper if you haven't considered that.

Well I think I got lucky with this one (knock on wood!). I picked up an tbi system with everything, for 180 dollars!
